RE: End of Spring Term 2025 Letter to Parents and Carers

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we come to the end of another busy and productive term at Educational Diversity, I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on the many achievements and experiences our students have enjoyed over the past few months. It has been a pleasure to see them engage in a wide range of activities that have supported their learning, well-being, and personal development.

One of the highlights of the term was World Book Day, where students and staff came together to celebrate the joy of reading through storytelling, book-themed activities, and creative discussions. Our focus on literacy continues to be an essential part of our curriculum, encouraging students to develop a lifelong love of books.

We have also embraced Mental Health Awareness Week and Neurodiversity Celebration Week, providing opportunities for students to explore different aspects of mental well-being, self-care strategies, and the importance of embracing and celebrating neurological differences. These initiatives have reinforced our commitment to inclusivity and the well-being of every student in our school community.

Our students have been actively preparing for their futures through National Careers Week, engaging in career-focused activities, workshops, and visits to local businesses. These have included participation in:

  • Blackpool Town-Wide Careers Event in January alongside other schools.
  • National Careers Week - Year 10 choosing work placements with a Victrex led advice session, employer visit to KS3
  • Keepmoat visiting KS3 groups talk about careers in construction and offer an employability activity
  • Introduction of Skills Builder - more information to follow
  • Visits to Victrex, The Cliffs (it is one of the Choice Hotels group)
  • Blackpool and the Fylde College tours

These experiences have been invaluable in helping students explore potential career paths and develop aspirations for the future.

This term also marked the exciting launch of our Student Council, providing students with a platform to share their ideas and take an active role in shaping school life. The newly elected representatives have already begun discussing key topics that matter to their peers, and we look forward to seeing their contributions make a real difference across the school. This initiative empowers students to have a voice, develop leadership skills, and foster a greater sense of community.

Educational trips have also played a key role in enriching our curriculum, with students enjoying visits to Beacon Fell, Lytham Hall, Nicky Nook, and a hands-on den-building experience. Additionally, our students enjoyed the celebration of creativity at the Seasiders Art Exhibition, where local young artists’ artwork was proudly displayed.

Our sporting calendar has been just as exciting, with students representing Educational Diversity in competitions including football, curling, indoor athletics and badminton. Their enthusiasm, teamwork, and sportsmanship have been a credit to the school.

This term has also seen the embedded use of our sensory circuits, supporting students’ self-regulation, focus, and overall well-being. This approach has made a positive impact on engagement and learning across the school.

We have continued our focus on “When the Adults Change”, placing an emphasis on positive noticing—recognising and reinforcing positive behaviour and achievements. This approach has contributed to an encouraging and supportive school environment where students feel valued and motivated.

As we look ahead to the next term, we remain committed to providing our students with rich and varied experiences that support both their academic and personal development. Thank you for your ongoing support; it is greatly appreciated.

Wishing you all a restful and enjoyable break. We look forward to welcoming our students back to school on Tuesday 22nd April 2025.

Best regards,
