Dear Parents / carers
We have been advised that there is a confirmed case of COVID 19 within the staff team at Pegasus KS4. Thankfully no students have been identified as being in close proximity of the confirmed case (based on government definition). However, as a precautionary measure and due to the number of staff who will need to self isolate, we have no alternative but to close Pegasus to KS4 staff and students up to and including Thursday 5th November. I can confirm that school will reopen to all students on the 6th November.
As you know we have worked hard to develop an online learning platform through Google classroom. Your child’s teacher will set work from Monday the 2nd November and we ask that you encourage them to complete the work set as it is important to make sure that learning time is not lost. If you experience difficulties accessing google classroom please let us know.
We know that you may find this concerning and we are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health.
Your child does not need to self isolate as they have not been in direct prolonged contact with the confirmed case
We know some of our families may struggle at this time and so if you need support from us in any way whatsoever, then please do not hesitate in contacting your Lead Teachers or myself directly.
I hope you understand that this is a difficult decision to make to ask a student to not attend school, however we must follow the guidance in order to keep everyone as safe as possible.
Many thanks
