An exciting and crucial opportunity for a highly motivated and committed Specialist Support Assistant has arisen in Educational Diversity Pupil Referral Unit in Blackpool. We are a Pupil Referral Unit catering for students from Key Stages 1, 2, 3 and 4. We provide a broad and balanced curriculum that promotes high expectations and aspirations for our young people.

Prior experience of working specifically with pupils with special educational needs, social emotional and mental health needs and/or behavioural needs is desirable. You must be a good communicator, with a creative approach to maximising learning opportunities and foster a love for learning. If you enjoy working with and engaging yet often hard to reach young people, this could be an invaluable opportunity to extend your professional skills.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Relevant qualifications and experience in supporting Teaching and Learning
  • A sound knowledge of Child Safeguarding
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to form and maintain positive relationships with disengaged young people

Salary: NJC Grade F SCP 19-24 £31,067 - £34,314 pro rata / per annum
